In 2014, Darlene joined the WaterAid Climb for Life: a 19,351 foot climb to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise funds and awareness for the water crisis.

To say that this trip opened my eyes and tugged at my heart is an understatement. The thing that surprised me the most as I reflect on the trip is that I left Ethiopia full of hope, not despair.
