Get to know the women leading the crusade. Every #WaterWarriorWednesday, one of our nine committee members will have five minutes to answer five questions and share #herH20story. Find out why water is important to us every Wednesday.

Q: Besides being life sustaining, why is water important to you?
A: Water makes me really happy. For most of my life I have been very drawn to water and as a Canadian I've been pretty lucky about access to it. I think all the best stuff happens in the water: jellyfish are so magical, whales are so majestic, and I loved The Little Mermaid.

Q: What specific impact makes you passionate about having a part in organizing this event? Be it women, children, health care, education, environment...
A: I know we all know when women have access to resources they share them. They take care of their children and keep the community safe. I want all women everywhere to be in positions of power. I didn't spend my life making treacherous treks to retrieve a life-sustaining resource. I was playing outside on my well-watered grass. I drank from the hose in my backyard, but the yield from a Malagasy woman's trek might result in illness, takes time from education, contributes to poor hygiene and sanitation (spoken by a woman who's only had about a third of all the periods she's going to have in her life on nice porcelain toilets and gets shell shock imagining how a period could possibly be worse), not to mention the further contamination of an already fragile environment. So, it's women. Women will heal the world.

Q: Tell us a happy memory associated with water.
A: I think the most happiness I have ever felt was in the water. Floating in the space between the sky and the sea. You can't hear anything and all you see is infinite sky. I floated above some really old sea turtles in Mexico recently and I felt like I was going to faint from glee.

Q: What goes on in your life besides H2OToronto?
A: I live in the Annex with my two cats and a Cam. We (the cats and I) eat lots of vegetables and spend a lot of time talking about beauty products, dairy products, and Beyonce.

Q: Describe yourself in 5 words.
A: Woman, passionate, Aquarius, cats, Beyonce.
