Joni Mitchell requests your attendance
When Canadian treasure Joni Mitchell sang about a big yellow taxi almost half a century ago, she was lamenting the degradation of our own paved-over paradise. Madagascar, as it exists, is an incredible example of unsullied life. Tragically, for reasons beyond our understanding and control, this island is under siege. Poverty is the metaphorical pavement, and the vulnerable ecosystem is one of the many post-industrial imaginings of taking all the trees, putting them in a tree museum and charging all the people a dollar and a half to see 'em.
Attending this event is your best chance at preserving what we've got before it's gone. These mothers and their children need our help to safeguard this biosphere and its inhabitants for the foreseeable future.
Don't take my word for it, but surely you can trust in Joni.
